A Letter from Our Vicar
Dear all, I hope you are keeping well and wishing you every blessing for a considerably healthier New Year!
As you know the BCP area has now been moved into Tier 4 and whilst places of worship are still able to be open for public worship, as a PCC we do not feel it is wise to do so at the moment. In truth I haven’t felt at peace about our being open since the latest government announcement and having discussed it with out PCC we were all unanimously in agreement.
Although we have all of the possible mitigations in place I am concerned that numbers locally are increasing and feel a responsibility to make decisions that keep us all a as safe as possible. We will review the situation at the end of January and as we hopefully move to a lower tier. In the meantime we will continue to live stream on our Facebook Page but just with those involved in the services and utilising video input to minimise the number of people in the building. For those of you who are not on Facebook you can view our services afterwards here on our website.
I say this with a heavy heart because worship and coming together is one of my top priorities as a disciples of Jesus but with the increase in numbers I really feel that we should do all the we can to protect one another until the vaccine has been rolled out and we see a considerable reduction in Covid rates.
We will be livestreaming night prayer again in February and I really am looking at ways of possibly coming together in Life Groups again!
If you have any queries please don’t hesitate to get in touch and in the meantime please be assured of my prayers for you all.
With every blessing, Rev. Christine Brooks,
Team Vicar St. Philip's West Howe
We will be live-streaming our services through Facebook Live at 10.15 every Sunday and then uploading them here by 12 noon.
